Keep all your patients documents in one place

The Mediadent Report generator is an integrated text processor that allows you to create document and document templates with the patient’s information.

The documents created in the Report generator can contains the patient’s information and the patient’s images.

It can also be used to create templates of official documents.

Examples of these documents are forwarding letters to other specialists like orthodontics and other doctors.

So any document can be created and stored together with the patient information.

Reporter

The Mediadent Report generator works like a text processor and shows the available fields like patient name, address, birthday etc … and integrates these fields into the documents.

From the Report generator you get access to the patient’s image library, so these can also be added to your document.

Add you own templates

The Mediadent Reporter module has a number of predefined templates like forwarding letter for other specialists or invitations for appointments.

You can also create your own templates.

It is possible to add templates of official documents.

Create your own fill-in form and the patient information (name, address …) is added automatically.

Save time and use the Autotext function

With the unique Autotext function you can quickly add standard text just by typing the abbreviations.

For example by typing ‘pdl’ in the letter, the full text ‘periodental ligament’ will be added to the document.

This will allow you quickly create your documents based on standard paragraphs.

Another advantage is that you can create your own Autotext by adding your own abbreviations and full text.

Easy document sharing

The documents created with the Mediadent Report generator can be shared with the patients or other specialists. Sending the documents via e-mail directly from the Report generator is easy to do. The reports can also be exported, for example in pdf format and stored in the patient’s image library.

The Mediadent Reporter module is an additional module.

In this latest version the focus was on fixing a number of issues that were reported by our customers.

Solved issue with lost images : After creating a new patient with subfolders in Mediadent Data the newly acquired images were not stored correctly and appeared to be lost. Now the images are stored in the correct subfolder.

When starting an application with VDDS with the VDDS module, the first and last name are now correctly passed. This is done through a new method with OLESetPatientNameEx and OLESetPatientXML where the first and last name are exported separately.

Fixed issue with white images in the documents created with the Reporter module of Mediadent v8.19.2.1.

The acquistion interface of the Sirona device was in the background. This is now solved, by selecting the correct acquisition interface in the setup of the Sirona module.

The fastest way to import images in Mediadent v8

Did you ever have the situation where you had to quickly import an image or any other file in the patients image library?

You had to go through the Import Picture Directory. This was not always a simple process.

Now in the latest version, this has been greatly simplified!

With the simple right click on the image or file you get the option to add the image or file to the image library of the patient that is active in Mediadent.

Watch this video and see how it works in Mediadent v8.18.11.30!

Sending an e-mail made simple

Sending an e-mail from Mediadent was not always very straight forward. You had to go through the File Export Picture Directory option. This was not always convenient and not all our customers were aware of the fact that this was possible.

This made us think and we came up with a solution to make it much easier to send images. Why not make it available from the image library itself?

We are now happy to announce that this is now possible!

Just right click on the image and you will see a new option :

Send by email.

It is as easy as that!

Install the latest version Mediadent v8.18.11.30 and give it a try!

In this short 1 minute demonstration (on our youtube channel) we will show you how you can use this option in the image library!

It is always exiting to launch a new version of Mediadent. Our team is working hard to create new features that add value to our product and that will help you in your day to day job.

In this version we have a number of interesting features. The new features that were added were based on customer feedback.

One of the remarks was that is was not always easy to import images coming from collegeaus in Mediadent. In this latest version you will now be able to import images from the file explorer. You just need to open Mediadent and select the correct patient.

A second question came from a customer who has been using Mediadent for more than 10 years. Sending the images by e-mail was already possible, but there were a number of steps you have follow. Now we made it easier, just right click on the image in the image library or from the status view and send the image.

GDPR and Mediadent

You have probably heard about GDPR. The aim of GDPR is to protect all EU citizens from privacy and data breaches in an increasingly data-driven world that is vastly different from the time in which the 1995 directive was established.
As a vendor of software that stores patient information and images we are obliged to make some necessary changes in order to be compliant with the new rules.

Mediadent stores the image (.dic), the stamp (.bmp) and the patient information (.mih). This information needs to be protected from unlawful access.

This has leads us to the question : How will we protect this information?

The answer is by encrypting the information.

So one the biggest changes you will see is that the patient folder that contains the patient images will be encrypted. In this way the information will not be visible by accessing the folder with for example the File Explorer.

This leads us to the impact this will have on all vendors of patient management systems that link to Mediadent.

Linking from a patient management system to Mediadent can be done in 3 ways:

1. OLE linking : this is the most advanced method and offers the most functionality. The patient management system that uses this method will not experience any problems.

2. Command line linking : this is a simple method that transfers the user information via a command line (e.g. : “C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageLevel\Mediadent\Mediadent.exe” /PJohn Doe /DMediadent Tutor /FC:\Mediadent\Patients\1011)

This way of linking is not secure enough under the new GDPR law. This linking method will no longer be supported.

3. Smartlink : this method will no longer be supported.
If you are aware of any patient management systems in your market that are not linking through the OLE linking method, please forward this information.
